Akvaristika U Korálu
A complete website of a fictional aquarium shop, built as a showcase for fish breeders and shops. A live aquarium stocked from the warehouse, an own shop with QR payment, content management for the owner and three language versions.
A website where customers pick fish right in the aquarium and the shop runs without an e-commerce platform
Brief
A fish breeder or a small aquarium shop usually sells through Facebook, the phone or an old e-shop where a fish looks the same as a box of food. I wanted to show a website that makes it clear from the first second that live animals are sold here, and that handles orders without monthly fees to an e-commerce platform. The shop „Akvaristika U Korálu“ is fictional, the technology is real and can be deployed for a specific shop.
Solution
The homepage opens with a coral reef video and right below it an aquarium where the fish currently in stock swim. Clicking a fish shows its price, care parameters and a button to the order. The website splits into a freshwater and a marine branch, each with its own aquarium, catalogues and advice.
- Live catalogue: the fish in the aquarium come from stock, with offers, new arrivals and a species compatibility check
- Water switch in one aquarium: a planted tank and a reef with a moray
- Own lightweight shop: order, confirmation by the breeder, bank transfer with a QR code or payment on pickup, no commission on orders
- Shop administration: products, stock, orders, price list import from a spreadsheet, product feed for comparison sites
- Website administration: the owner edits texts, photos, lists and the page titles and descriptions for Google; the look and effects stay with the developer
- Change requests: every larger change is quoted in advance and the owner approves the price in the administration
- Czech, English and German, including fish and product names
- Self-hosted fonts, fast loading, keyboard control and a light mode for slower phones
Result
A finished website you can walk through, including the order and the administration. Nothing is stored or sold, every page is labelled as a demo. The aquarium alone is also available for an existing website as the app Live catalogue.
